Book your free discovery call

Pick any available time in the calendar below and a senior adviser will call you. The conversation is confidential, free of charge and carries no obligation — you tell us where things stand, and we tell you plainly what happens next and how we can help. If you'd rather talk right now, call 020 8087 4832.

How to prepare for your discovery call

You don't need to prepare anything formal — the call is a conversation. But a few things in front of you make it far more useful:

  • 01Where things stand right now: investigation, charge, sentencing, or custody — and roughly when the next step happens.
  • 02The establishment your loved one is held in, if known, and how long they have been there.
  • 03The one question you most need answered — bring it first, not last.
  • 04Any paperwork you can share, such as sentence details, if you would like us to map the timeline on the call.

Who this call is for

Men facing custody themselves, family members and next of kin, and defence solicitors considering a Shadow Brief or operational case review. Whatever brings you here — and whatever the offence — you will be spoken to with respect and without judgement.

After you book

You will receive a confirmation with the call time. At the appointed time, a named senior adviser calls you. The conversation is confidential, free of charge and carries no obligation: if we are not the right help, we will say so and point you somewhere better. If you instruct us afterwards, every engagement is charged at £250 per hour (ex VAT) and agreed in writing before any paid work begins.

Urgent matters

If someone is at risk or a hearing is imminent, do not wait for a calendar slot. Call 020 8087 4832 now and mark your enquiry urgent — we prioritise a response the same working day.

Custody Insights Consulting is an independent advisory service providing practical operational guidance based on UK prison and criminal justice experience. We prepare research-based operational shadow briefs that draw on Prison Service knowledge and publicly available historical case material (including UK National Archives records). These briefs offer practical insight into how similar cases have typically been built and challenged. They are intended solely to support instructing solicitors and do not constitute legal advice or formal legal opinion. We do not provide formal legal representation, nor do we act as regulated solicitors or barristers. For courtroom advocacy, please consult a qualified legal practitioner.
